Appeals and Complaints Committee
The Appeals and Complaints Committee is the successor of the Committee on Student Complaints and Challenges to Accreditation Procedures at the NEAA. It was established in response to a recommendation from the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) as a body that supports the out-of-court resolution of disputes between the NEAA and Higher Education Institutions and Scientific Organizations, related to the conduct of accreditation procedures and evaluations. By decision of the Accreditation Council from, 03.08.2023 (Protocol № 19), the status and functions of the Committee were amended, and its Rules of Procedure were adopted.
The composition of the Committee, updated and supplemented by decision of the Accreditation Council from 30.09.2024 (Protocol № 15), is as follows:
Chairperson:
1. Prof. Hristo Georgiev – jurist, former member of the Accreditation Committee (term of office 2017-2023)
Members:
2. Prof. Boris Bogov – former Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Healthcare and Sports (term of office 2016-2021)
3. Prof. Galina Mladenova – former Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Economic Sciences and Management (term of office 2018-2024)
4. Prof. Tanya Yosifova – jurist;
5. Delyan Dzhurov – jurist
6. Prof. Daniela Yordanova – representative of the "Higher Education" trade union, former member of the Standing Committee on Educational Sciences and Social Activities (term of office 2018-2024)
7. Yoanna Yosifova – representative of the students.
