During the 2023 ENQA General Assembly, which took place in Dulbin, Republic of Ireland, the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency of Bulgaria (NEAA) and Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education of the United Kingdom (QAA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The Memorandum was signed by NEAA's President prof. Eliza Stefanova, and Alastair Delaney, Executive Director of Operations and Depute Chief Executive of QAA.
The Memorandum is an important step in the cooperation between the two agencies. It is a statement of shared responsibility for mutual work towards building an administrative capacity for ensuring the quality of higher education and qualifications recognition. NEAA and QAA also agreed to work together on enhancement of transnational education and scientific and research cooperation, as well as inquiries into the possibilities of international higher education quality assurance.
QAA's Chief Executive Vicki Scott said: "QAA are delighted to sign this MoU with NEAA Bulgaria on the important occasion of the ENQA General Assembly in Dublin. As ENQA members, both agencies share many commonalities and we are looking forward to developing our collaboration in several important areas, including transnational education."
